The Desai Sethi Urology Institute (DSUI), part of the University of Miami Health System, is proud to share its inaugural Annual Report, which highlights its transformation from a department into a multidisciplinary institute where urologists, oncologists, engineers, chemists, statisticians, researchers, and more come together in a true embodiment of multidisciplinary care.
DSUI's goals are to redefine the field of urology by fostering innovation, collaboration and excellence. This report provides a comprehensive look at DSUI's progress, achievements and contributions to advancing patient care, education, and research in the field of urology while showcasing its unique model to urologists and health care professionals across the country.
“This year’s report highlights the milestones of our remarkable journey. Chief among them is our ascent to a top-15 ranking nationally among NIH-funded urology institutions—a clear testament to the success of our model,” writes Dipen J. Parekh, MD, founding director of the DSUI and chief operating officer of the University of Miami Health System, in the introduction to the report. “As you explore this report, you’ll see how DSUI has evolved—advancing technologies, patient care strategies, education, and research programs in ways that distinguish us as a leader in the field.”
