The American College of Surgeons has named Jack W. McAninch, MD, as first vice president-elect. Separately, the ACS Board of Governors has elected Howard M. Snyder III, MD, as a regent.
The American College of Surgeons has named Jack W. McAninch, MD, as first vice president-elect. Separately, the ACS Board of Governors has elected Howard M. Snyder III, MD, as a regent.
Dr. McAninch, who became an ACS fellow in 1973, is professor of urology at the University of California, San Francisco and chief of urology at San Francisco General Hospital. In addition to numerous posts he has held within the ACS governance, Dr. McAninch recently concluded his tenure as a member of the Board of Regents and is currently co-chair of the Patient Education Committee.
Dr. Snyder, a urologic surgeon, is associate director of pediatric urology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and professor of urology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. An ACS fellow since 1984, Dr. Snyder has served on the Committee on Video-Based Education and has been chair of the Advisory Council on Urology since 2003. He is also currently a member of the Board of Governors’ Committee on Physician Competency.
